You may have already decided that you’d like family pictures this year, but how do you choose the right date? Sure we want to plan ahead, but what if something comes up? I get it! As a mom of 2 busy bodies we work hard to balance, soccer schedules, piano lessons, sand volleyball and of course beach time! So we do what works for everyone, we pencil you in! If your schedule changes we find another day that works for everyone. Oh and of course Mother Nature throws us a curve ball here and there.
I’m working with Carrie Schoenbauer right now to book her 2018 family session. She mentioned early October or MEA weekend might work best. I joked with her that she must not have been a fan of the heat, humidity and bugs that surprised us last year. You see a last minute storm was forming and she didn’t want to reschedule as they were already getting ready (we all know that feeling) so we moved her session earlier in the day.
We got everyone out in the field, started pictures and then the clouds broke and the most intense heat blasted through. She has an incredibly chill and patient husband, with three littles who just kept on having fun! So even in the heat, humidity, and buggy field we were able to pull off these beautiful keepsake images.
When thinking about your 2018 session some things to keep in mind. I shoot week nights approximately 2 hours before sunset and reserve my weekends for weddings and family time. The sun sets late in June & July so sessions take place later in the day. If you have littles that go to bed early, a May or September session might be more fitting for you. The first 2 weeks in August are reserved for Senior Sessions who are involved in Fall sports (no coach contact/practice weeks). If you are insta-hot in 70 degree weather, May, September & October would be great options for you.
